SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) is the protocol carriers and large senders use to exchange SMS. A persistent SMPP bind can push much higher, steadier volumes than individual HTTP calls. As a bulk SMS service provider in India, PromoMarketingSolution helps you with every step.
Who needs SMPP
- Resellers and aggregators running their own SMS platforms
- Enterprises sending very high, continuous volumes
- Teams with existing SMPP-based software they want to keep
How an SMPP connection works
Your system opens a bind (transmitter, receiver or transceiver) to our SMPP server with a system ID and password, usually from whitelisted IPs. Messages are submitted with submit_sm and delivery receipts come back as deliver_sm on the same or a receiver bind.
For Indian traffic, the DLT entity ID and template ID are passed as optional TLV parameters with each message.
Setting up
SMPP accounts are set up on request after we understand your volumes and use case. We share connection details, agree throughput (TPS), whitelist your IPs and test the bind with you before going live.
Frequently asked questions
Is SMPP faster than the HTTP API?
For high volumes, yes — a persistent bind avoids per-request overhead. For typical application traffic the HTTP API is simpler and fast enough.
How are DLT IDs sent over SMPP?
As TLV parameters on each submit_sm. We share the exact tags during setup.
